Statement of Faith

As CHEFA is a Christian organization, CHEFA and its leadership proclaim the following statements of faith:

  1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  2. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  6. We believe the Biblical view of sexuality, marriage and gender as detailed in the Nashville Statement.
  7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Release of Liability

As a Christian group, we seek to follow the biblical mandate, which disallows bringing charges against Christian brothers in civil courts. We also seek to be good stewards of the resources and blessings the Lord has provided. Our organization has never had an instance of injury or damages being charged to the group, yet we believe it is best to be sure all members understand our position prior to any mishaps.

We are an organized not-for-profit group of Christian families. The leadership is made up of those who have volunteered their time to organize activities and oversee the organization. Participation in any event is strictly voluntary, with no member ever being required to attend any meeting or event (however, new member applicants must attend a CHEFA “New Member Meeting”). Neither CHEFA as an organization, nor its leaders, nor its members are liable for any injuries or damages, whether connected with a CHEFA event or not.

Student Supervision: At every event, parents are responsible for their own children. Occasionally a member will desire to send his/her child(ren) to an activity with another adult member. We suggest that if you find it necessary to send your child(ren) to an event with another adult, it be one who is comfortable enough with your child to correct him/her if necessary. We encourage you to send a MEDICAL RELEASE form with your child(ren) in case of an emergency. There is a release form provided on the CHEFA website.

Any special guests (grandparents, relative, etc.) who accompany members to any event are under the sole responsibility of that member for behavior, damages, injuries, etc.

Permission is given for the above named CHEFA members’ images to be recorded during a CHEFA event. The image be used only for the purpose of promoting CHEFA’s commitment to provide social/education opportunities to Fresno area private Christian homeschoolers.

When you sign the membership application, you are agreeing to hold CHEFA and its members harmless in the event of any damages or injuries to you, your children, or to your property.

CODE of CONDUCT and DRESS

Conduct Policy: Colossians 3:12–17 (NIV)

12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

DRESS CODE:

The purpose of our dress code is to provide guidance. We can’t possibly address all fashion trends. Please remember that it is the responsibility of each student and parent to make choices that will honor God and each other.
  • Undergarments belong UNDER your other clothes. Don’t go showing it off.
  • No short shorts or short skirts. If you bend over and have to worry about flashing anyone, they are too short.
  • Tops end where bottoms begin. Your midriff belongs behind one or the other.
  • Yoga pants are for doing yoga in. Save the tight-fitting pants/shorts for the gym or cover them with a long shirt.
  • No t-shirts, caps, socks, accessories, etc. with suggestive, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate pictures or wording.
  • Swim attire: While in the pool, men are not required to wear a shirt, but are asked to put on a shirt when they are no longer swimming. Likewise, modest two-piece swimsuits are allowed for women as long as no mid-riff is visible during regular wear.
Blatant violation of conduct or dress code may be reason for removal from an event. Questionable modesty is an issue that can be addressed privately with the parent and no one else.
